Fedor Shalyapin Monument

The monument to Feodor Ivanovich Chaliapin was installed in Kazan on Bauman Street near the Bogoyavlensky Cathedral. The height of the bronze sculpture is about 4.1 meters with the total height of the monument approximately 5 meters. The sculpture created by Moscow master A.V. Balashov symbolizes the moment when the singer bid farewell to his homeland before leaving Russia in 1922. The monument was opened in 1999 and annually attracts fans of Chaliapin's talent who gather here on February 13th, his birthday.
