Caban Lake Embankment

Caban Lake Embankment in Kazan is the city's main promenade area between the Old-Tatar Quarter and Kamal Theatre. There are alleys, benches and terraces here, with evening/night lighting. Construction work is ongoing: a concert hall, parking lots, cafes and shops are planned to open. According to the project, a ring-shaped "Elastic Strap" will unite various embankment objects and nearby areas into a single pedestrian route. The lake is divided into two parts: one for the stage, another serving as fish habitat. Legend has it that there are Khan treasures hidden on the lake bottom.
