Al-Marjaniy Mosque

Al-Marjani Mosque is one of the oldest stone mosques in Kazan, functioning since Soviet times. Inside its minaret there is a spiral staircase leading to a balcony for the muezzin. The building has architectural changes: around it a brick fence was built in 1861, while in 1885 the minaret was reconstructed with funds from merchant Z. Usmanov. Originally, the mosque was two-story single-nave with a four-sided roof and functionally divided into a service area and prayer hall.
