Kazan Bogoroditsky Monastery

Kazan Bogoroditsky Monastery is situated on Bolshaya Krasnaya Street in Kazan. It was founded presumably no earlier than 1579 on the site where the miraculous Kazan Icon of the Mother of God was found. The monastery has preserved an historical complex with Krestovozdvizhenskaya Church, Sofyiskaya Overgate Church, Abbot's and Nikolsky Buildings. In July 2021 there was a great consecration of the reconstructed cathedral icon. There are also burials transferred here from October 2019. The monastery continues its activities.
