V. I. Kachalov Academic Big Russian Drama Theatre

The Great Drama Theatre is situated on Baumana Street in Kazan. Founded in 1791, it is among Russia's oldest theaters and an important center for Russian-language dramaturgy in Tatarstan. Both classical and contemporary plays are performed there. Since 2004, the theater museum has been led by Yu.A. Blagov, a renowned theater scholar and director. Among notable productions is "Golden Key, or Adventures of Buratino" by A.N. Tolstoy directed by Alexander Slavutsky.
