Vakhtangov Theatre

The Big Drama Theatre named after V.I. Kachalov is located on Kazan's central street — Bauman. Founded in 1791, it is considered one of Russia's oldest theaters and an important cultural center for Russian-language dramaturgy in Tatarstan. Classical and contemporary plays are regularly staged here. The theater building bears the name of famous Russian actor Vasily Ivanovich Kachalov.
