State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan

The State Museum of Fine Arts of Tatarstan is situated in an historical mansion on Karl Marx Street, 64. After a major renovation, the building has transformed. The museum's collection was founded by archaeologist A.F. Likhachev. Around the mansion is a cast iron fence designed in the style of Cheboksar artistic blacksmithing. Adjacent to it is a park with a fountain. The main funds were enriched through expeditions, purchases and gifts from private individuals. Since 1958, the museum has been led by prominent cultural figures.
