The main building of Kazan Federal University is situated on Kremlevskaya Street, 18 in Kazan. It is an architectural monument of Russian classicism from the XIX century, designed according to architect P.G. Pyatnitsky's project and refined by M.P. Korinfsky. The building features a symmetrical composition with a central dome and pediment, three-axis facade solution, and portals with columns. Adjacent structures include a chemical laboratory and physics classroom, library, as well as an astronomical observatory created with participation of N.I. Lobachevsky. In the eastern part of the complex there is a modern university cultural and sports complex.
