Second-Afon Svyato-Uspensky Monastery

The Holy-Dormition Second-Afonsky Male Monastery is situated on Beshtau Mountain in Pyatigorsk. It was founded in 1904 by Russian monks returning from Athos. Restoration began in 1999. There is a church dedicated to Saint Great Martyr George the Victorious. The monastery maintains spiritual ties with the Athonite tradition and is an important religious and historical site in the region.
