Eagle Sculpture

The "Eagle" sculpture is installed on Goryachaya Mountain in Pyatigorsk above a fissure with a hot mineral spring, whose healing waters gave rise to the resort. The composition depicts a mighty eagle defeating and pecking at a snake, symbolizing healing from illnesses thanks to the natural forces of the Caucasus. Originally made of cement, the figure was replaced with a bronze copy on October 15, 1973. This image, proposed by painter I.I. Krylov and embodied by sculptor L.K. Shodky, has been the official symbol of the Caucasian Mineral Waters since 1995.
