Pyatigorsk Planetarium

The Pyatigorsk Planetarium, located in Kirov Park, first opened its doors on February 27, 1960, and after a long break was solemnly revived on April 12, 2012. The initiative to restore the institution on Cosmonautics Day was taken by local entrepreneur Anna Platonova, who independently selected the equipment and programs. In the 25-seat auditorium, a modern multi-projector system is installed for showing dozens of full-dome popular science films. Programs about the Universe and space objects are designed for both children and adult audiences.
