First Burial M.Yu. Lermontov

The first burial of Mikhail Yurevich Lermontov took place on the old Pyatigorskiy cemetery, in the necropolis. In July 1841, the poet was buried here after tragic death in a duel. Later, in 1905, a small concrete obelisk was installed at the site of his interment. In 1985, the monument was replaced with an exact replica made from Mashuk limestone. The precise original location of Lermontov's grave is determined approximately.
