Mikhail Lermontov Monument

Lermontov Monument in Pyatigorsk - the first monument to the poet in Russia, opened in Lermontov Sq. on August 16, 1889. The sculpture was created by well-known artist Alexander Opekushin, who also made the Pushkin statue in Moscow. The idea for installing the monument belongs to Pyotr Martyanov, realized under the supervision of sculptor Opekushin.
