Insect Museum

The Insect Museum in Pyatigorsk is located at Kirova Avenue, 18 near the operetta theater. It was opened on June 18, 1995 due to efforts by entomologist Valentin Vladimirovich Tikhonov. Visitors can see live butterflies and exotic animals as well as dry entomological exhibits. The museum houses ten species of large spiders and two species of scorpions. A special greenhouse has been set up for the butterflies.
