Eternal Flame Memorial Complex

Memorial complex "Eternal Flame" is situated on the square in Pyatigorsk. It is dedicated to the memory of Pyatigorsk residents who died during German occupation of the city during World War II. An eternal flame burns here, symbolizing gratitude to liberators and remembering those tortured citizens buried after liberation of the city in January 1943. During the war, there were 14 evacuation hospitals functioning in Pyatigorsk, receiving over six thousand wounded.
