Chinese Pavilion

The Chinese Gazebo stands atop Goryachaya Mountain in Pyatigorsk, offering views of the city, Mashuk, and Beshtau. The modern openwork metal structure was installed in the summer of 1976 based on the design of sculptor Irina Shakhovskaya, who called it her gift to the city. Its roof resembles a Chinese pagoda, and the structure itself appeared in place of the wooden "Tsvetnaya" gazebo built in 1902. After the revolution, the pavilion was renamed "Svoboda" (Freedom).
