Emanuel Park

Emmanuelsky Park in Pyatigorsk, named after General Georgy Emanuel, is one of the oldest recreational areas in the city. It was laid out in 1828 on the Mikhailovsky spur of Mount Mashuk according to the design of architect Giuseppe Bernardazzi in the English landscape style. A section of the historic tramway has been restored in the park, and sculptures of characters from Mikhail Lermontov's novel "A Hero of Our Time" have been installed. At one of its high points is the famous "Aeolian Harp" pavilion, where an instrument once sounded that was driven by the wind.
