Vladivostok Funicular

Vladivostok cable car connects upper and lower stations on Orlyonok hill. Cars depart simultaneously and split halfway through the route. Upper station is one of the best viewing platforms in the city. Cable car built in 1962 under Nikita Khrushchev's initiative as part of "Big Vladivostok" plan. Idea borrowed from American cable cars aimed to create image of Soviet San Francisco.
