Perm State National Research University

Perm State Research University is located at Bukireva Street, 15 in Perm. It was founded due to the initiative of city and gubernatorial public figures with support from businessman Nikolay Vasilyevich Meshkov who donated university buildings on Zaimka near the station. The first teachers came from St. Pyotrsburg University. The university emerged as Perm branch of Imperial St. Pyotrsburg University on October 14th, 1916 and became an independent higher education institution already in 1917.
