Perm Cathedral Mosque

The Perm Cathedral Mosque is situated at the intersection of Osinskaya and Monastyrskaya streets in Perm city. The building is executed in eclectic style with elements of Muslim architecture. Construction began in 1902 funded by means of Muslim merchant families such as Agafurov, Timkin and Ibattulin. The mosque's design was created by Perm architect Alexander Ivanovich Ozhegov. In September 1903 it officially opened for prayers. This was the first mosque in Perm city built in an area historically significant for its Muslim community.
