Perm Regional Library named after A.M. Gorky

Perm Regional Library named after A.M. Gorky is situated at Lenina Street, 70. The library's history began in December 1835 with a donation of 469 volumes. Its first opening took place in the house of an office clerks' school. After a fire in 1842 the library suffered greatly and closed nearly for two decades, resuming operations only in August 1863 as a public institution. The collection included publications in French and German languages.
