Perm System Museum of Perm State University

The Museum "Perm System" is situated in Perm on Bukireva Street, 15. It showcases rocks and fossils from the Permian period which began about 299 million years ago and ended the Paleozoic era. The system was named after Scottish geologist Rodger Murchison following his studies in the Urals in 1841. The uniqueness of the museum lies in its focus on the single geological system named after an area of Russia - the Perm Province.
