Monument to Heroes of Front and Rear

Monument "Heroes of the Front and Home Front" is situated in the center of Perm city's esplanade. Its height exceeds ten meters. The sculptural group consists of three figures symbolizing the heroism of frontline soldiers and the homefront laborers. It was opened on May 9th, 1985; the project designer is constructor Boris Gurvich while sculptor is Vyacheslav Mikhailovich Klykov. A distinctive feature of the composition is the worker's face oriented towards the east, soldier with sword facing west, and mother-Russia looking to the west. In 2015, at the base of the monument, a time capsule containing a message was buried for opening in 2045.
