Smyslyaev House

Smyslyaev's House is situated at the intersection of Pyotropavlovskaya and Sibirskaya streets in Perm. The building is notable for having previously housed the city council, merchants' club and branch of Marinsky Public Bank. In 1876, the second floor was occupied by the city's public library. By 1966, after the regional library moved here, the city library named after A.S. Pushkin relocated. The original design of the building is attributed to architect Pyotr Pyotr. It is believed that the house inspired Boris Pasternak when creating the image of Yuratin library in his novel "Doctor Zhivago".
