Building of the Orenburg Ordinance House

The building of the Orenburg Ordinance House, located in Orenburg, was constructed as a one-story stone structure in the late 18th century and was rebuilt in the 1830s. In 1847, Taras Shevchenko spent one night here before being transferred to the barracks, and 15 years later, in 1862, the institution was liquidated after the fortress was abolished. Since 1866, a vocational school has been located in the building, and in 1883 it was visited by Nikolay Chernyshevsky. In 1974, the Ordinance House was included in the list of historical and cultural monuments protected by the state.
