Orenburg Ordinance House Building

The former Orlovsky ordonans-gauz building is located at Sovetskaya Street, 3 in Orenburg. Here, on June 1847, Taras Shevchenko spent one night during his stay in Orsk fortress. Later, in 1883, Nikolay Chernyshevsky visited it as well. Since 1862 after the fortress was dissolved, the building was used for various institutions including a crafts school and a hotel for soldiers during the Soviet period.
