Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos

The Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos in Orenburg is an architectural monument of regional significance, built in 1853 in the Classicism style with funds from honorary citizen Mikhail Stepanovich Deev. In 1857, Mikhail Deev's sons expanded the temple, arranging two side chapels in the name of Archangel Michael and Sergius of Radonezh, and in 1908 a stone chapel dedicated to Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker was assigned to the church at the Khlebny Market. On October 22, 1990, the Orenburg branch of the Society for the Protection of Monuments demanded the restoration of the building and the cessation of construction on its territory. On December 5, 2013, Metropolitan Valentin reconsecrated the Intercession Church.
