Monument to V. I. Lenin in Lenin Square

Orenburg, Leninsky Square

The monument to V. I. Lenin in Leninsky Square in Orenburg, considered one of the first in the world, returned to its place on November 18, 2025, after being dismantled in 2018 due to its dilapidated state and subsequent restoration. The bronze figure of the leader in natural size, 165 centimeters tall, created by sculptor Vasily Kozlov and cast in the workshops of the Leningrad Art and Industrial Technical School, depicts him in the moment of addressing the people. The pedestal project was designed by architect Ivan Ryangin, and since 1974, the monument has been under state protection as a cultural heritage site. Initially, residents raised funds for the construction of a hydroelectric power station on the Sakmara River.
