Monument to Orenburg Residents - Participants of the First World War

The monument to Orenburg residents – participants of the First World War was solemnly opened on August 28, 2014, in the Vladyka Leontiy Square, on the centenary of the beginning of the war. Before the opening, a six-meter granite stele was consecrated by Metropolitan Valentin of Orenburg and Saraktash. The St. George Cross is depicted on the main side of the monument, and a mosaic icon of St. George the Victorious is included in the composition. The installation site is associated with the dispatch of Orenburg residents to the front in 1914, and the creation of the monument was funded by the patron Mikhail Konnov.
