Alexander S. Pushkin Monument

The monument to Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin is situated on Pushkinsky Boulevard along Ural Embankment in Orenburg. It was unveiled in October 1982 and forms part of the literary memorial environment of the embankment. During his visit to Orenburg, the poet gathered materials for the novel "Kapitanskaya Dochka" ("Captain's Daughter") and the work "History of Pugachev". Here, Pushkin was accompanied by Vladimir Dahl, while the meeting with the poet was arranged by Governor Vasily Perovsky.
