Orenburg State Tatar Drama Theatre named after M. Faizi

The Orenburg State Tatar Drama Theatre named after M. Faizi is a professional theatre in Orenburg, established in 1990 and named after the playwright Mirkhaydar Faizi, who was born in the Orenburg Governorate. Faizi is considered one of the founders of Tatar musical drama, and the theatre provides simultaneous translation into Russian for adult performances. The company's repertoire includes plays by Tatar, Russian, Western, and Eastern playwrights, and the theatre also participates in cultural projects of the Southern Urals. The origins of the Tatar professional theatre in Orenburg date back to a troupe organized in 1905 under the leadership of Ilyasbek Ashkazarsky.
