River Ural Embankment

The Embankment of the Ural River in Orenburg is part of the city's historical center. Here there remains historic Soviet Street's architecture, approaching the embankment from the high bank side. In 1900 a wooden grating on a stone foundation was installed. After recent heavy rain damage occurred to the stone wall and wooden grating. The embankment connects with Pushkinsky Boulevard and A.S. Pushkin's monument, as well as provides access to Zauralnaya Grove via a reliable bridge over the Ural. There is also a statue dedicated to Valery Chkalov.
