Museum of Cosmonautics

The Museum of Cosmonautics in Orenburg is located at Chelyuskintsev Street, 17. Founded in 1961, it originally was called the museum of aviation school's history and military glory. There are three exhibition halls; separate materials focus on Yuri Gagarin, an alumnus of the local school. In front of the building there are MiG-15bis aircraft linked to his training and a memorial for pilots-Heroes of the Soviet Union. The building is an architectural monument from the late 19th century.
