Cosmonautics Museum

The Museum of Cosmonautics in Orenburg is located in a building from the late 19th century, which is an architectural monument, and was established in 1961 as a museum of the history and battle glory of an aviation school. One of its three thematic expositions is dedicated to the feats of the flying school's graduates during the Great Patriotic War, while separate materials tell about the graduate Yuri Gagarin, whose personal belongings are also displayed in the museum. In front of the building, there is a memorial to pilots – Heroes of the Soviet Union, as well as an aircraft monument that reminds of the first cosmonaut's aviation training.
