Hussainia Mosque

Husainiya Mosque in Orenburg is situated at Kirova Street, 3. The building was constructed in 1892 upon initiative and funding of Tatar merchant Ahmed-bey Husainov. Architectural design was presumably prepared by D.P. Korin. Nearby there was Husainiya Medrese where famous personalities such as Bashkir poet Sheikhzada Babich and cultural figures from Kazakhstan were educated. Religious education resumed here in 1989 after an extended hiatus.
