Elizabeth Gates

Elizabeth's (Water) Gates - an historical and architectural monument of Orenburg, situated near the slope to the river Ural embankment. It is a composition of two stone pillars with niches decorated with sculptures featuring Asian facial features. Restored in 2008. A sign on the crossbar contains images of military insignia, recalling the city's past as a fortress town.
