House of Memory

Memory House in Orenburg is situated at Prospekt Pobedy, 100/1. It gathers memorial plaques with names of police officers who died while on duty, veterans of international conflicts and Chernobyl disaster liquidators. The museum preserves memory about those lost in wars and conflicts, includes data on burials of city residents since 1900. The building design was created by architect S.E. Smirnov. The institution's primary goal is to preserve and immortalize the memory of Orenburg natives. The initiative originated from city mayor G.P. Donkovtsev and honorary citizen Y.D. Garankin.
