State Bank Building

The building of the State Bank in Nizhny Novgorod is situated on Bolshaya Pokrovskaya Street, 26. Its facade is adorned with the state coat of arms of the Russian Empire and carved oblitsovka from white Ural stone. Inside there are paintings depicting historical themes created based on sketches by Ivan Bilibin. The opening took place in 1913 and the building became a symbol of the three-hundredth anniversary of the Romanov dynasty. The architect of the project was Vladimir Aleksandrovich Pokrovsky.
