Upper Volga Embankment

Upper-Volga Embankment of Nizhny Novgorod was arranged by Emperor Nikolay I's decree. The embankment boasts high views over Volga River and ancient merchant mansions, including Bukashnikovy Mansion and Sirotkin House. Architecture gradually shifts towards outskirts giving way to Stalinist buildings. Inside one of the structures there are workshops, labs, lecture halls and management offices with library. Society headquarters building features Russian neoclassical style from early 20th century.
