Upper Volga Embankment

The Upper Volga Embankment in Nizhny Novgorod was arranged by Emperor Nikolay I's decree. The embankment is famous for its historical merchant mansions and estates, including Rukavishnikovs' Estate and Sirukhtin's House. From its heights, there is one of the best views of the Volga River, with architecture transitioning from ancient to Stalinist buildings as you move away from the city center.
