Minin and Pozharsky Square

Nizhny Novgorod, Minina I Pozharskogo Sq

Minin and Pozharsky Square in Nizhny Novgorod is known for its historical planning: the first regular zoning appeared here in 1770. It features university buildings constructed between 1828 and 1831 to replace the burned-down seminary building. In 2021, the square underwent major renovations resulting in a monument to Kuzma Minin, and it now bears its current name. Previously, tram tracks were laid there, which were later relocated.
