Monument to Minin and Pozharsky

The monument to Kuzma Minin and Prince Pozharsky was installed on Unity Square in Nizhny Novgorod. The sculpture was created by Zurab Tsereteli, depicting citizens transferring property for the militia. It is a smaller version of Ivan Martos' Moscow monument. The opening took place on November 4, 2005 with participation from Patriarch Alexius II. The monument is situated at the foot of Nizhny Novgorod's Kremlin near the Church of the Birth of John the Baptist.
