Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin

Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin - historical complex in the center of Nizhny Novgorod, including a stone wall two kilometers long and 13 towers. Founded between 1508-1515 by Italian architect Pyotr Fryazin. Access is available along the entire perimeter of the wall, with operation of the city's oldest church - Mikhail-Arkangel Cathedral from the 17th century. The Kremlin occupies the second largest area among Russian fortresses after Moscow's. From the viewing platform of the northern facade there is a view of the confluence of Volga and Oka rivers. Inside are art museums, exhibition centers and a philharmonic hall.
