Shelokovsky Courtyard

The Museum of Architecture and Folk Customs of the Nizhny Novgorod Volga Region is situated in the forest park "Shchelokovskiy Khutor" of Nizhny Novgorod. Its exhibits include peasant cottages with carved window frames, merchant houses and examples of folk wooden architecture. There are also an granary and a church on site. Films such as "Life of Klim Samgin", "Siberian Barber" and "Children of Arbat" were filmed here. The museum opened on June 3, 1973 and is part of the Nizhny Novgorod State Historical and Architectural Reserve.
