Mikhail-Arkhangelsk Cathedral

Mikhail-Arkhangelsky Cathedral is the oldest church of Nizhny Novgorod, founded in the year of city's foundation, 1221. Originally wooden, it was reconstructed into a stone version six years later. The cathedral is located within the Kremlin grounds and served as a princely burial site. Currently its appearance has been shaped by the 17th century, and every Sunday there are lessons at the Sunday school for children and adults held here.
