Cathedral of Saint Alexander Nevsky

Cathedral dedicated to Saint Blessed Prince Alexander Nevsky is situated on the Confluence, where Volga and Oka rivers meet, being the tallest church in the city. Inside, frescoes were restored after the fire of the 1940s. It also suffered damage in the 1920s when there was consideration about removing it for installing Lenin’s monument, though this decision never materialized. The cathedral is renowned for its significant interior decorations and serves as an important attraction in Nizhny Novgorod.
