Great Pokrovskaya Street

Нижний Новгород, ул. Большая Покровская

Bolshaya Pokrovskaya Street in Nizhny Novgorod is the city's main pedestrian street, also known as "Nizhny Novgorod's Arbat." Bronze sculptures of 19th-century city residents are installed here: a police officer, shoe cleaner, lady with a dog and others. The street got its name from the former Pokrovska Church. It stretches from Minin and Pozharский Square to Lyadova Square and is famous for its theaters, museums and numerous cafes.
