Blagoveshchensky Monastery

Blagoveshchensky male monastery is located in Nizhny Novgorod on Melnikov Street. Founded in 1221 together with the city, it is one of its oldest sanctuaries. The complex includes four white stone churches and a cathedral, impressive for its interior volume, ancient iconostasis and frescoes. Daily services are held here. From the monastery grounds there is a picturesque view of the Oka River.
