SM Kirov Monument

The S.M. Kirov Monument in Murmansk stands in a square on the intersection of Pushkinskaya Street and Vorovskogo Street. The monument's height is about eight meters. The central bronze figure, standing 3.2 meters tall, was sculpted by Zinovy Vilenskiy in Moscow. It was unveiled on February 20, 1940, marking the anniversary of the restoration of Soviet power in the city. This was the first sculptural memorial in Murmansk, placed where Sergey Kirov addressed residents in 1932.
