Memorial to Port Workers Who Died in World War II
Murmansk, Skver Portovikov, Portovy Proezd
In Murmansk, in Portovikov Park, there is a monument dedicated to the deceased workers of the sea port during World War II. On the stele there are two bronze bas-reliefs: "Portoviki" and "Oath to the Fallen". On the commemorative plaque are engraved the names of 58 deceased port workers. The modern one is a stylized port crane stele, construction of which began in 1966 after approval of the project in December 1965. Originally, in 1945, a temporary monument in the form of a four-sided obelisk was installed.
