Murmansk Regional Museum of Local Lore

Murmansk Regional Museum of Local Lore is located at Lenina Avenue, 90 in Murmansk. Founded on October 17, 1926, it is the oldest museum in the region. After reconstruction in 2025, a new building with 14 interactive thematic halls opened. The exhibition includes a unique collection of cores from Kola Superdeep Borehole up to 12 kilometers deep. The museum has branches in Lovozero and Umbo, an extensive library with over 18 thousand publications and collections exceeding 170 thousand exhibits. About one hundred temporary exhibitions are held annually here.
