Kirov Regional Palace of Culture and Folk Art

The Culture Palace and House of Peoples' Creativity named after S.M. Kirov is situated in Murmansk on Pushkinskaya Street, 3. The building has a rich history: originally it housed the Murmansk Regional Drama Theatre founded in 1939. In 2013, the institution became the regional methodological center for cultural and leisure institutions. A concert by Yuri Gagarin took place here in December 1965. Initially, the structure was intended as a fishermen's culture house and was built on the site where a proposed church dedicated to Nikolay of Lykia was planned.
