Memorial Complex "Seamen Who Died in Peace Time"

Memorial Complex "Seamen Who Died in Peace Time" in Murmansk is a hexagonal lighthouse-tower 17.5 meters high located between Chyeluskintsev Street and Heroes of North Fleet Avenue. From its observation deck there is an impressive view of Kolsky Bay and the city. On the lighthouse wall there's a handprint - a symbolic farewell gesture to seamen who have forever left for sea. Nearby the lighthouse is a section of the submarine Kursk's conning tower. Inside the tower there is a memory museum with memorial plaques and a capsule of seawater under a ship's anchor. At the top of the complex stands the Church of Savior-on- Waters.
