Memorial Complex for Sailors Who Died in Peacetime

Memorial complex "Sailors Who Died In Peace Time" is situated in Murmansk between Chelyuskinets Street and Heroes-of-the-North-Caucasus Avenue. Its central element is a hexagonal lighthouse-tower 17.5 meters high. Inside the tower there is a memory museum with books and memorial plaques dedicated to sailors from various fleets. At the foot of the lighthouse stands a ship's anchor with seawater capsule and a fragment of the submarine Kursk's conning tower. The complex was opened on October 5, 2002 and annually visited by residents and guests of the city.
