Russian Drama Theatre named after G. Konstantinov

The Russian Drama Theatre named after G. Konstantinov is located at Nikonova Square, 1 in Yoshkar-Ola. The building of the theatre, constructed in 1984 by architect A. I. Galitsky, became home to the troupe which moved here in 1985. The history of the theatre began in 1919, and since 1964 it has been led by prominent director Georgy Konstantinov. Since 1993, the theatre has hosted an international festival of Russian theatres, while the first republican festival took place in spring 1994.
